Stehr, 68, of Jamestown, died on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Robert James Stehr was born on July 25, 1949 in LaMoure County, the son of Robert and Marjory (Tomlin-Lenz) Stehr. He was raised on a farm south of Edgeley and attended country school. He graduated from Edgeley High School in 1968. He farmed with his dad and worked at various places in Edgeley. Robert married Laura Jean Potts on November 11th, 1970. They built a new home on the family farm. They were blessed with two sons, Joseph and Matthew. They later moved to Jamestown where he worked as a security guard at the Jamestown State Hospital. They divorced and he moved to Lake Tahoe, Nevada where he was employed as a security guard as a casino. Robert worked there several years before moving back to Edgeley where he later retired. He enjoyed the visits and help from family and friends. He had a love for his horses, dogs, and cats. He was a member of the Edgeley Wesley United Methodist Church.
He moved to Ave Maria Village in May 2017 and appreciated the good care he received there.
Robert is survived by his brother-in-law, Oscar Stehr of Minot; eight nieces and two nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four step-sisters, Lynea Mae Persson, Rosanne Lyda Stehr, Margie Lou Frieh, and Lois Marjory Lenz; one step brother, Lowell Merlin Lenz; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Persson and Glenn Frieh; and two nephews, Mark Persson and Curtis Frieh.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 in the Good Shepherd Chapel at Ave Maria Village, with Pastor Becky Holten officiating.
Inurnment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
