N.D. (AP) – U.S. Senator John Hoeven  wants his Senate colleagues to quickly confirm North Dakota Public Service Commissioner Tony Clark to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. President Barack Obama nominated Clark for one of five seats on the commission that regulates electric transmission lines and natural gas pipelines.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Two Williston men are each facing five counts of counterfeiting charges after authorities say they made bogus bills and used them at three gas stations in Williston and a motel in Dickinson. Michael Borash and Jeremy Koller have each pleaded not guilty. 

WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) – Neither law enforcement officials nor energy company representatives expect big problems from the partial closure of a major north-south route in western North Dakota’s oil patch. U.S. Highway 85 has been reduced to one lane about 14 miles south of Watford City. The lane closures are expected to last about six weeks while crews repair a damaged bridge.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A record number of people boarded airplanes in North Dakota last month. The state Aeronautics Commission says nearly 85,000 people boarded planes at the state’s eight commercial and regional airports. That’s a 25 percent increase over the year and the most of any month on record.
