(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High volleyball team had a shaky start Monday in their final regular season road contest, but rallied in the next three sets to defeat Kindred three sets to one.
Oakes (21-7, 4-2 Class B District 5) won by scores of 24-26, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-17. The Tornadoes had kills from Nicole Schmitz (26) and Makayla Wetzel (9) to propel them to the victory. The visitors were lead in aces by Marissa Garza with four and Sadie Hansen picked up three.
Kindred (13-20, 2-6 Class B Region I) had a team high seven kills from Theresa Klinnert. Taylor Keller had lead the Vikings with two aces.
