N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department was called to Newman Signs Monday afternoon for reported smoke coming from the area.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther reports that at around 1:30 PM, there was report of smoke coming from the Northwest corner of Newman Sign’s yard.
Jamestown Police officers were also on scene. Chief Ruether says because the burn didn’t comply with the Jamestown City ordinance for burning, the managed burn was not allowed.
Ruether says the fire was contained to just the pile of debris and no injuries occurred. Three units and 26 firefighters were on scene for around 20 minutes.
