N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It won’t be confused with deer season, but pheasant season is huge for the state of North Dakota.

The youth pheasant season closed October 1st, making way for the regular season beginning October 7th and running through January 7th, 2018. North Dakota Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that the best part about pheasant season is anyone can participate.

Even with the excitement of the season opener this weekend, Leier says residents may see a few less birds out there this year due to lower numbers.

Leier says if the pheasant season isn’t of interest, residents have a chance to get out and participate in archery deer season or duck season. He encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy the fall before the winter hits.
