N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a small fire at Klaus Park at around 6 PM Monday night.

The fire caused minimal damage to a tree near the Klaus Park Bridge. The Jamestown Fire Department reports that the suspected cause of the small fire was that of juvenile fire play. This is the second call following a September 25th fire in a street gutter at 8th Street and 14th Avenue Southwest that was also caused by juvenile fire play.

“We can’t confirm that the two incidents are related,” commented Fire Lt. Sheldon Mohr. “The damage to the tree was kept to a minimum.”

Crews were on the scene for roughly 10 minutes.
