AMENIA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Over a one week period a few areas in eastern North Dakota received 4 to 8 inches of rainfall.

The rainfall was welcome news after a severe drought hit the state for most of 2017. However, a few farmer now need a drying out period to harvest corn and soybeans.

Ken Astrup submitted a photo of this corn field taken on his farm about a mile north of Amenia, North Dakota recently.

Astrup said the photo was taken Wednesday, September 27. He said that area near Amenia had 6.1″ of rain the night before and over a one week period the area received 7.9″ of rainfall.
