MADISON, S.D. (PlayNorthStar.com) – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced its third edition of the women’s and men’s cross country runners of the week on Tuesday and Valley City State (N.D.) sweep the weekly honors. Grace Miller was honored as Women’s Runner of the Week, while Dennis Gonzalez was recognized as Men’s Runner of the Week.

Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Grace Miller – Valley City State (N.D.) – Junior – St. Cloud, Fla. – Miller ran the second-fastest among all North Star Athletic Association runners competing at the large Roy Griak Invitational. She placed 123rd overall out of 404 runners for Valley City State (N.D.). Miller clocked a time of 24:59 in the 6K race, 1K longer than the normal women’s 5K race.
NSAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Dennis Gonzalez – Valley City State (N.D.) – Senior – Riverside, Calif. – Gonzalez ran a great race in taxing heat as he placed 57th overall out of 472 runners in the Division II race at the Roy Griak Invitational for Valley City State (N.D.). His time of 27 minutes, 12 seconds topped all other North Star Athletic Association runners in the race by more than a minute. Gonzalez helped VCSU to a 28th-place team finish out of 44 teams, topping all NAIA schools except Northwestern (Iowa) who is ranked No. 6 in the NAIA.
