N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Maple Valley/Enderlin defense once again held their opponent scoreless and under 100 yards Friday night. The Falcons blanked Lisbon 34-0 to start their season 2-0.

The Broncos registered just 77 yards of offense while MVE collected 455 yards with 344 rushing and 111 passing. Scoring started with 7:09 remaining in the opening quarter when Dustin Kasowski found the end zone on a 31 yard run. The 2 point conversion was good putting The Falcons up 8-0. In the second quarter AJ Punton had a 30 yard score and ran in the extra points. MVE held a 16-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half Punton rushed for an 11 yard touchdown in the 3rd and Kasowski scored twice more (24 yard run in 3rd and 47 yard run in 4th). Punton ended his night with 159 yards and Kasowski 177.

Quarterback Hunter Smith was 6 for 9 with 111 yards.

Kasowski paced the defense with 12 tackles. Lain Combs registered 9 and with Nik Leedahl and Darian Walburn each adding 5. Jack Bartholomay had a forced fumble and recovery.

Both teams will be on the road Friday. Lisbon will play Hillsboro/Central Valley and Maple Valley/Enderline is at Northern Cass.
