N.D. (UJ Sports Information) – Hastings scored three touchdowns in a span of 4:56 in the first quarter and the Jimmie football team managed just 216 yards of offense as the Broncos won 31-3 Saturday at Rollie Greeno Field.
Anthony Cloyd connected with Jordan Johnson on a 13-yard scoring pass at the 8:11 mark of the first quarter. Alex Stogdill’s extra point made it 7-0. Following a Jimmie punt, Tahj Willingham broke free for a 70-yard run to paydirt, and with a Stogdill extra point, Hastings led 14-0.
The Broncos forced Jamestown to punt on the ensuing drive, and for the second straight possession, Hastings would score on next play. This time, Travis Agagah rumbled for a 43-yard touchdown. Stogdill’s third extra-point of the quarter made it 21-0 eleven minutes and 45 seconds into the game.
UJ got on the board in the second quarter courtesy of Chandler Johnson’s 27-yard field goal at the 8:52 mark to make it 21-3. The field goal capped off a 70 yard, 13 play drive that took 7:16 off the clock.
Cloyd scored the final Hastings touchdown on an eight yard run with 7:13 in the game, then Stogdill closed out the scoring with a 32-yard field goal just under three minutes later.
Willingham ran for 123 yards on 18 carries. Cloyd completed 15 of 24 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown, and also carried 12 times for 70 yards. Johnson caught three passes for 68 yards.
Jamestown threw for just 65 yards on the day. Dylan Klatt completed 7 of 23 passes for 33 yards while Jordan Mann was 2-for-3 for 32 yards. Allen Jevning (FR/Brainerd, Minn.) ran for 64 yards on 16 carries, and Jimmy Hatch added 63 yards on 10 carries. Branden Edwards had five grabs for 31 yards.
