ROCKFORD, N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne are ready for their first contest of the 2017 regular season as they host the Cougars of North Prairie Friday night.  Last year the Rockets finished in third place in Region Two 9-Man Football, with a 5-3 overall record and 4-2 in the region.  They made it to the first round of the playoffs but lost to Kidder County 24-22.  North Prairie went all the way to the semifinal round, but lost to New Salem-Glen Ullin.  Thompson beat NS-GU in the 9-man Dakota Bowl Championship game last year.
