N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Mike and Lindsay Ostlie are preparing their farm for the 3rd Annual Hops Harvestour on August 26th.
The Ostlie’s own a farm roughly 9 miles south of Carrington, but have something very unique to their land. Originally from North Dakota, both had moved to Colorado. Lindsay pointed out that the micro-brewing scene there led them to plant hops on their land once they moved back to the state.
The Ostlie’s will be opening up their farmstead to the public to view their operation, but will also have many different things going on.
“There will be a mechanical hops harvesting demonstration, beer samples from Fargo Brewing, a book signing, local music, and more,” they state in a press release. The event will also feature many kid friendly things to do.
Lindsay says their hope is to grow the hops growing industry for the state of North Dakota.
Cost of the tour is $25 for adults and $15 for kids. Tickets can be purchased at ostlieacres.com/hops or by calling 701-285-3344.
