N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is seeking two individuals after a man was rear-ended on Highway 46 near Enderlin Sunday morning.
A 71 year-old Sheldon man suffered non-life threatening injuries when he was struck by a 32 year-old female driver from out of state. After striking the pickup, both pulled into a nearby parking lot. The occupants of the 2007 Lincoln MKX briefly exited their vehicle and assessed the damage of their car. When the driver realized her vehicle was not disabled, she ordered her passenger back into the vehicle and fled the scene for a short distance on Highway 46.
They then continued southbound for one mile on Highway 32. The driver parked at a row of trees on the west side of Highway 32 before they both fled into a cornfield.
Deputies from Cass, Stutsman, and Ransom County assisted with the search. K-9’s tracked the suspect for approximately one mile before losing the scent at a Highway. The crash remains under investigation.
