Sund, age 68, of Valley City, ND laid her head into our Lord’s arms and He took her home unexpectedly on July 28, 2017. Lori Laureen Sund may forever be remembered by many as being a feisty, stubborn woman with a passion for sewing, crafts, gardening, canning, baking, puzzles, craft shows, riding motorcycles and ensuring you had last-call when she was working.  A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 3rd at the Lerud Schuldt Mathias Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City, ND.  Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.  A Celebration of Life following at the Eagles Club in Valley City, ND.

Lori was born to parents John and Mary (Kautzman) Milek in Jamestown, ND on June 13, 1949. She spent many of her early years enjoying time with family, especially on the farms in Carrington and Sykeston. Lori attended and graduated from Chaffee High School in 1967, where she enjoyed being a part of FHA, playing basketball in which they placed second in the Wheatland Invitational Girls Basketball Tournament and being part of the first Homecoming to be held in the history of the school.  As a young lady, Lori enjoyed beauty school, sewing, fishing with her parents, her pets, biking, camping and being with family constantly. She carried passion and beauty through her life as a young lady dedicated to her parents and as a mother devoted to her children and grandchildren.  On July 5, 1983 Lori married David L. Sund. Together they have shared years of devotion to family and one another. Lori was the happiest enjoying life with David, riding motorcycle and time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many memories that were created.

She is survived by her loving, dedicated husband David L. Sund; daughters Diana M. Potter of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Tina M. Berger of Fargo, ND; grandchildren Jaime (Palmer) Meehan, Elizabeth Potter, Anthony Berger, Abigail Berger and Jorja Berger; great-grandchildren Isabella Mangler and Rilee Meehan; one sister LaVonne Heimann; and a brother “Lucky” Larry Larson.

Lori was preceded in being called home to our Lord by her parents, her step-father Harold Compton, and sisters, Carolyn “Kathy” Heimann and Shirleen Burke.
