CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City Post 60 ended up regular season play Friday night as they played host to the West Fargo Aces.  In a good, tightly contested game Post 60 came literally within feet of winning the game but eventually fell by score of 3-2.

West Fargo would jump out early in the top of 1st with one run.  That would be answered by Post 60 in the bottom of the 3rd to time the game up 1-1 after 3 innings.  Score would stay that way till the 5th inning where the Aces would get 2 runs in while Post 60 would just put up 1 run.  Score stayed the same but in the bottom of the 7th VC had their best chance to tie and over take the game.

With tying run on 3rd, Nate Rodriguez would hit one to left field that would hit off the outfield fence.  West Fargo would put together a perfect relay of the baseball to home to tag out the tying run at the plate for the 2nd out of the inning.  Next batter would then ground out to first to end the game stranding the tying run on 3rd and ending game with Post 60 on loosing end 3-2.

Rodriguez would get the start on the mound.  He would work all 7 innings giving up 3 runs(2 earned) on 5 hits while walking 1 and striking out 10 for the loss.  At the plate Rodriguez would pace Post 60 with 2 hits, while rest of team picked up 2 hits for a team total of 4 in the game.

Next action for Post 60 will be the South East Region tournament starting Thursday June 20th in Wahpeton.  VC will be the 6th seed in the tournament.
