N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After a successful mobile food pantry earlier this year, the Great Plains Food Bank will make their return to Jamestown July 28th.
According to the organization, they will be bringing a truckload of fresh fruit, vegetables, meats, shelf stable items and much more.
Andrea Block is the Agency Relations Manager for the Eastern portion of North Dakota. She reports that at their first food distribution event in Jamestown, around 632 people benefited from the event. That equaled out to about 13,700 pounds of items donated.
“The Pop-up Perishable Food Program fills a strong need and puts food directly into the hands of those that need it most,” Block pointed out. “This is all about convenience for the consumer. They know exactly when and where there will be fresh and nutritious food available. We want to make it as easy as we can for those who need help to be able to get it.”
They will be setting up on Friday, July 28th at the Jamestown Civic Center from 11 AM to 1 PM. They ask that you bring a box or bag to fill with items.
