N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An independent music festival near Anamoose will be heading into its second year this July.

The Prairie Pothole Music Festival brought local bands from around North Dakota to Little Antelope Lake, roughly six miles north of Anamoose. Organizer John Wardner says the idea for the festival came from holding smaller events like it for close friends and family members.

Wardner says in their first year, they had four acts perform. This year, they’ve brought in 18 different acts that will play a wide range of genres on two separate stages July 14th and 15th.

Only 200 tickets are available through their website, Rhythm Records and Cafe in Bismarck and Nola’s Lounge in Minot. Their lineup this year includes:

Jon Wayne and the Pain, Wayne Suchy, Boreal Gardens, Northern Light, Wild Hands, Kids With Beards, Aitas, Cold Sweat, New Reign, Clashic, Dose, Fuzz & The Guns, Jessica Norman and the Gentle Souls, Jobiwaan, Johnny Spud, Micah Scott, Reverend’s Roadshow, and Lodge Beats.

Wardner says they have also built the newest stage at their location 6 miles north of Anamoose, which he says in unofficially the second largest outdoor stage in North Dakota.
