N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Four local gardens will be showcased during the 28th Annual AAUW Garden Tour on July 19th.

AAUW (American Association of University Women) promotes the advancement for equity of women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Jamestown branch member Kelly Krein says they raise money to support their Endowment Fund at the University of Jamestown and the AAUW Foundation.

Krein is also managing their annual Garden Tour, which will highlight some beautiful yards in the Jamestown area.

The tour will bring individuals to the homes of Kim Avans at 418 4th Ave SE, Frank and Stephanie at 1605 3rd Ave NE, Alan and Mary Sargeant at 3161 Highway 281 N, and John Zviroski at 1601 7th Ave SE.

Krein says that this year, refreshments will be served at the Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse where participants can turn in completed tickets from the tour for door prizes and view the new renovations.

She points out that the event has brought in numerous people in previous years.

Tickets for the tour are $8 and are available at the AAUW Used Bookstore, The Arts Center, Country Gardens Floral, Don’s House of Flowers, Lloyds Toyota, The Garden Gate and all AAUW members. Tickets will increase to $10 the day of and will then only be available at the Used Book Store or at each tour site.
