City, N.D. –A petition to eliminate the city administrator position was certified yesterday by city auditor Avis Richter.

Richter says the city commission has 2 option’s, either eliminate the position with an ordinance or call for a special citywide election for voters to decide the issue. Richter says if the commission chooses the option of special election it will have to be held by October 11.

Petition committee member Brian Mindt says the city administrator position is unnecessary and city commissioners should do the work to save tax payer money.
