N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A rural Jud teen is dead after trying to save a puppy from a vertical sewer drain Saturday June 10th.

LaMoure County Sheriff Bob Fernandes reports that Jesse Wagner, 19, had attempted to retrieve the dog after it had fallen into a vertical sewer drain at around 7PM Saturday evening.

Fernandes stated that Wagner crawled into retrieve the animal, which crawled up onto his shoulders and out.

Fernandes says Wagner’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office in Bismarck for an autopsy.
