N.D. (AP) – Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul
is making a last-minute campaign trip to Fargo today as he tries to
snag his first state victory in the GOP sweepstakes. North Dakota
is one of 10 states on “Super Tuesday” that’s holding a
presidential primary or caucus. Tonight’s caucuses start at 5:30
p.m.
     
MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A survey shows that more than 40 percent of
the Minot homes that had damage on their main floor because of last
year’s Souris River flooding are either rehabbed and occupied or
close to being rebuilt. City officials say more than 1,100 homes
should be usable by spring.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Record water releases through the Garrison
and Oahe  dams during last year’s Missouri River
flooding caused substantial smelt losses. But state wildlife
officials say the population should recover quickly. Smelt are
often eaten by game fish like walleye.
     
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota wildlife officials say their
latest round of deer sampling didn’t show any more cases of chronic
wasting disease. The fatal deer disease has been found three times
in state history, most recently last fall in Grant County. The
first case was recorded in 2009.
