(NewsDakota.com) Hundreds of area residents stopped at the Angry Beaver Lodge in Oakes on Sunday to show their solidarity for a family that was hurt by a great loss and the response by the community has been nothing short of incredible.

The Beaver hosted a lunch fundraiser for 18 year old Danielle Brown to help offset medical expenses, as she continues to slowly recover from a terrible car accident in late February that also took the life of her good friend, 16 year old Ashley Meyer.

The back room at the Beaver was packed from 10:30 a.m. through 2 p.m.

When the amount of money raised during the benefit is added to the amount that area businesses have contributed, the total amount is just shy of $30,000.
