(NewsDakota.com) – No school other than St. Mary’s or Century had won the WDA girls soccer title since 2000, but that changed on Friday night in the Buffalo City. With a 3-2 win over Bismarck, the Jays locked up their first WDA title.

The Jays were down 2-1 after Bismarck broke the tie just minutes after Emily Reiten tied the game. Megan Gaffaney scored two goals down the stretch to lift Jamestown to the victory.

Jamestown will finish their regular season with games on Tuesday against Mandan and Legacy on Thursday. Tuesday night’s game is Military Appreciation Night at Rotary Field.
