CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Hi-Liners wrapped up their season Friday night at home with a doubleheader against West Fargo. The Packers won both games with scores of 21-6 and 6-0. The Hi-Liners sent off 8 seniors; Matt Brandvold, Cole McGough, Justin Manson, Sam Jenson, Seth Hanson, David Fletcher, Nate Rodriguez and Stephan Brooks.
Game 1: West Fargo 22 VCHS 6 (5 innings)
The Packers broke open a 2 run game with an 8 run 2nd and 6 run 3rd inning. West Fargo had 20 hits with The Hi-Liners collecting 12. Sam Jenson was 3 for 3 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Stephan Brooks drove in 2 runs.
Brooks was the losing pitcher and lasted 2.2 innings. Reese Huschka pitched the final 2.1.
Game 2: West Fargo 6 VCHS 0
West Fargo starter Ryan Bourassa went 21 up 21 down with a perfect game against The Hi-Liners. The junior struck out 12 and used 71 pitches. Cole McGough had a strong start for Valley City, he pitched 6 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs. The game was 2-0 until West Fargo scored 4 runs in the final inning. Mitchel Taylor pitched an inning of relief.
