N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Milaca, MN man was arrested following a vehicle and foot pursuit near Jamestown Saturday evening.
At around 9:39 PM on May 20th, a North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper attempted a traffic stop for a violation on eastbound Interstate 94 near exit 260. The driver of the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado failed to stop and illegally crossed the median on westbound I-94 in an attempt to elude the trooper.
The driver lost control while exiting, drove into the ditch and abandoned the vehicle. The suspect, 28 year-old Justin Hatten, fled on foot into some nearby trees.
NDHP and local law enforcement began a ground search and found Hatten at around 11:00 PM. Hatten was arrested for misdemeanor Fleeing Law Enforcement and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The vehicle had been stolen earlier in the evening by Hatten from Hope, ND.
Hatten is currently in custody of the Stutsman County Correctional Center. The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department assisted in the incident.
Hatten is currently being held on $500 bond.
