The bill will go into effect on July 1st.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist says most radio consoles for the county will reach “end of life” in December 2018. The bill will begin raising funds for a statewide network to help connect all dispatches in North Dakota.
There will be a need to replace most radio consoles at all 21 dispatches in North Dakota. According to the North Dakota Statewide Ineroperability Executive Committee, upwards of $10 million will be needed to complete the project.
