CITY, ND (NewsDakota.com)- The Hi-Liners fell behind 4-0 early before scoring 14 unanswered runs to defeat Shanley 14-4 in 5 innings Tuesday in Valley City. Before the game the team honored their three seniors Maren Horner, Jayda Haugen and Emily Murray. The 2 point EDC win brings The Hi-Liners record to 6-11 and 8-9 in the conference. Saturday they play in an non conference doubleheader with Jamestown High School beginning at noon, both games will be on Q101 and NewsDakota.com.

 The Deacons recorded 3 hits and 4 runs in the 1st inning to grab the game’s first lead. The Hi-Liners scored 2 in the 3rd and broke the game open with a big 10 run 9 hit 4th. In bottom of the 5th Emily Murray scored on a wild pitch. Grace Scherr then doubled in McKenna Taylor to end the game early with the 10 run rule.

Starter Becca Thompson settled in after the first to allow just one hit, she walked 3 and struck out 6. Shanley starter Ingrid Swanson lasted 3.1 in the loss.

Kace White, Grace Scherr and Emily Murray had 3 hit nights. White and Murray had  3 RBIs each and Scherr drove in 2. Maren Horner had a hit and a RBI and Jayda Haugen scored twice.
