N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An event that has grown to be one of the most well-attended events in the Buffalo City will be held again on May 5th at the Jamestown High School.
The Father/Daughter Dance was created 6 years ago after Marilyn Teckenburg saw an identical event in Fargo.
The event has daughter’s and their father, grandfather, uncle, or guardian accompany them to a prom-like event, with dancing, refreshments and a great time. Organizer Mayda Mueller says the event had a great first start.
Last year, the event raised over $3100 and Mayda hopes it continues to grow. All money raised will then be donated to the Stutsman County Relay for Life.
The event will be held on May 5th at the Jamestown High School from 6 PM to 9 PM. A grand march will be at 6:30 PM and spectators must pay $1 to watch the march and see the first dance.
Tickets are $20 per couple in advance from St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or Neighborhood Grocery. They will also be available at the door for $25. For more information, contact Mayda at 701-252-4633 or Carlla at 701-252-6718.
