N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board met Tuesday evening for a regularly scheduled meeting.

During the meeting, Superintendent Robert Lech reported that two new hires were to later be approved by the full board. He stated that he had prepared information for the board regarding both individuals as they had not been a part of the hiring process.

Both hires were approved by a hiring committee lead by Pat Smith at Roosevelt Elementary school. A background check had also been conducted and was part of the hiring recommendation.

Ashley Kronebusch was approved as the new 5th Grade Teacher and Amanda Shaffer as the 1st Grade Teacher at Roosevelt for the 2017-18 school year.

Later, Lech reported on the Citizen Advisory Committee and their continued work on improvements for the schools in the district.

Lech says this has helped invest interest in the future of the schools for residents and the members of the committee. He says they’ll go through final prioritization in May.

A presentation was also given by board members Diane Hanson and Steve Veldkamp regarding the Legacy Tour and Flex Mod Schedule. You can view the full board meeting in the video below, courtesy of Jamestown Video.
