N.D.  (NewsDakota.com)  The Cardinals of Carrington will kick off their High School Baseball Season next Friday, April 7th on the turf at Bismarck Shiloh Christian Baseball Field.  The Cardinals will take on Kindred at 12:15pm, then Grafton at 4:45pm.  Both games can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com, starting about 15 minutes before with the pregame report.  Last year, Carrington finished in third place at the State Tournament, they have made the State B four times out of the last five years.

Wayne Shipman, currently in his 14th year as head coach, has been the head coach since the programs inception in 2004.  Shipman talks about practice.

He said the field conditions at Carrington City Park are improving with the warmer temps.

Shipman states that pitching will be strong this year again.

 

Region 3 consists of five teams, including Medina/Pingree/Buchanan, Sheyenne/New Rockford, Midkota/Dakota Prairie will add Lakota this year, Carrington, and Kidder County will move into this region from Region 8.  The Region 3 Tourney will be held in Carrington this year May 22-24th, the State ‘B’ will be held in Jamestown.  Entire season coverage for the Cardinals can be heard on AM 1600 KDAK and newsdakota.com.
