CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Kara Berntson of Kulm was crowned Miss Rodeo North Dakota Winter Show 2017 on Saturday, March 11 during the 80th Annual North Dakota Winter Show just before the PRCA Rodeo.
Kara is the 21-year-old daughter of Neal and Marla Berntson, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a minor in Equine Science at NDSU. Kara will be traveling throughout the state as an ambassador for the North Dakota Winter Show and the sport of rodeo. She will compete in Minot in October for the Miss Rodeo North Dakota title.
Eva Vangsness, who was crowned Jr. Miss Rodeo NDWS last year will continue her reign. Eva attends Kindred High School and will be in the graduating class of 2019. She is very active in High School Rodeo, FFA and Speech, and belongs to other rodeo associations, as well. Her plan after graduation is to go into nursing, as she is passionate about helping others.
