N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Snow geese were present when the season kicked off in North Dakota, but colder temperatures forced them back south.

Now, the Game & Fish Department is reporting that the hunters may get geese closer to North Dakota due to expected warmer temperatures this weekend. The Bismarck National Weather Service is predicting warmer temps starting Friday with some highs reaching into the 40’s.

Doug Leier is a Biologist with the department. He pointed out that even though there’s no hard evidence that the geese will return, warm-ups like this weekend should get things going.

Leier also reminded listeners that they need to have their updated licenses by April 1st for the 2017-18 hunting season. You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday on JD in the Morning at 7:20.
