N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The community of Carrington was left reeling following the loss of three children in a tragic home fire February 25th.
Alexander, Melody and Spencer Tufte were children of Dawn and Brandon. They were tragically killed after a fire engulfed their home in the early morning hours of February 25th. Family friend Dennis Freeman says the community was hit hard.
Support for the family has continued in a steady stream. Over 1,161 people have donated over $67,000 on the official GoFundMe page. The community has also offered major support, with Gate City Bank opening a local account and receiving much needed donated items to give to the family.
Evans Funeral Home of Carrington will host the funeral on Wednesday, March 8th at the Carrington High School Gymnasium at 3 PM. Burial will be in the Carrington Cemetery.
Greg Grenz reports that a candlelight vigil will be held tonight at 7 PM at the Tufte’s home. There will be barricades in place to keep individuals from going beyond them to the scene. Trinity Lutheran Church will be offering their candles for the service.
