CITY (NewsDakota.com)- Valley City could not halt Devils Lake’s winning streak. The Firebirds won their 6th in a row 71-60 Friday night in Valley City.  In the the first half The Hi-Liners kept pace and trailed 39-34 at halftime. Devils Lake jumped out to a 12 point advantage in the 2nd half. With 17 points from Nate Rodriguez, Valley City managed to pull within 2 possessions. Free throw shooting kept the game out of reach, Devils Lake went 8 for 10 from the charity stripe. 

Rodriguez finished the night with a game leading 27 points, Levi Nix scored 14. Jagger Miller had 22 for Devils Lake. Sitting in 4th place, The Firebirds are now 11-5 in The EDC. Valley City drops to 3-11 in the conference. They head to Fargo North Tuesday.
