N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County has received a very generous offer to pay for the digitization of all their records and documents.

Deputy Auditor and Recorder Nicole Meland reports that Brad Balerud with Quality Title, Inc. in Bismarck had contacted her and asked to have all of the counties documents. He was informed that it was all not digitized and still in physical form.

Meland reports that the total project will cost around $292,312.04, with only around $66,000 needing to be paid by the county. She mentioned that she already had all the contracts ready to go with approval from the commission.

Auditor Casey Bradley stated that he had looked into the proposal and found that Balerud had done similar work with Burleigh County. He pointed out that the county has looked into digitizing all their documents before, but the cost was deterring them from doing so.

The council unanimously approved to enter a contract agreement with US Imaging and Quality Title, Inc. to begin digitizing their records.
