N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Carrington girls basketball team finished up regular season play with a 72-45 win over Benson County. The Cardinals were paced by Maara Nelson’s 14 points. Jill Endres (13) and Abigail Jarrett (11) also hit double figures in points to aid the victory. A balanced attack for the Cards negated a 24 point effort from Benson County junior guard Dani Schwanke who drilled a game high 24 points to pace the Wildcats.
The Cards also had points from Bella Hone (9), Kadyn Mehring (8), McKenzie Johnson (7), Emerson Hoornaert (6), and Addison Hoornaert (4). The Cards were missing their second leading scorer Haley Hewitt with a leg injury, but is expected to be ready for their opening game of the District 5 tourney on Saturday.
