(NewsDakota.com) Elizabeth Lyons scored a team high 29 points as the Lisbon High School girls basketball team earned a 57-35 home victory against Oakes Saturday night.
The Broncos (11-7, 7-3 Class B Region I) got off to a solid start in the first eight minutes; with a 16-7 run. Lisbon kept the lead at nine going to the half, but then outscored the Tornadoes 20-5 in the third quarter to pull away for good.
Oakes (8-10, 1-5 Class B District 5) had two players in double figures; Nicole Schmitz had 18 points, and Shelby Roney contributed 12.
Lisbon visits Fargo Oak Grove Monday, while Oakes plays their final regular season game of the season Monday when they welcome Milnor/North Sargent. Coverage from the South Gym of Oakes High starts around 7:15 p.m., with tip around 7:30 p.m.
