Mae Jacobson, 94, of Edgeley, ND, passed away Thursday morning, January 26, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, Oakes, ND.
Olive Mae Vincent was born near Berlin, ND September 10, 1922, the daughter of Earl and Zara (Derry) Vincent. She grew up on a farm in Willowbank Township and attended country school there. Olive attended Berlin High School for one year and graduated from Edgeley High School. She married Leonard Jacobson in 1940 and they had three children: Adrian, DeLome, and Lynea. Olive served as the clerk of Willowbank Township school district for many years and remembered all the children’s birthdays. She was also clerk of Willowbank Township for many years. Olive was a 4-H leader with Mrs. Engel Johnson, belonged to homemaker’s club, Birthday Club, and Wesley United Methodist Church. Olive has always been a caregiver. She took care of her parents, especially for her mother and son, Adrian. They lived on the farm until 1983 when they moved to Edgeley. Leonard died on October 1997.
Olive Mae is survived by her children, Adrian Jacobson, Edgeley, DeLome (Roger) Pauling, Edgeley, and Lynea (Bryant) Gibson, Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, with Pastor Becky Holten officiating.
Visitation: 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home, Edgeley.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at Williams Funeral Home, Edgeley.
Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
