WBB: #12 Jimmies 111, Waldorf 48
For the Jimmie women’s basketball team, it was a night for the record books.
Jamestown tied a school record by making 20 three-point shots (in 39 attempts) and Kyra Dewald (SR/Jamestown, ND) scored a career-high 29 points as UJ rolled to a 111-48 victory over Waldorf (Iowa) Friday evening. The 111 points by the Jimmies is the fifth-most all-time in a single game, and is the most ever scored in a conference game.
The Jimmies left no doubt that Friday was their night, as they outscored the Warriors 28-4 in the second quarter, turning a 10-point first quarter lead into an insurmountable 34-point halftime advantage. Waldorf made just 1 of 10 field goal attempts and a pair of free throws to account for second quarter offense.
Dewald was one of nine Jimmies to hit from beyond the arc, draining five of her seven attempts. Allison Jablonsky (FR/Blaine, MN), who finished with 16 points, tied a career high with four treys, and Paige Emmel (JR/Bismarck, ND) also connected on four from long range to set a personal best. Paige Schmidt (FR/Tappen, ND) was the other Jimmie sinking multiple threes, including the first two of her career.

Even in the dead of winter, it was raining Friday night in Jamestown.
More specifically, it was raining threes in the Jamestown Civic Center, as the Jimmie men’s basketball team set a new school record by making 21 shots from beyond the arc in a 90-67 NSAA victory over Waldorf (Iowa).
Twenty-one of UJ’s 30 field goals were of the three-point variety, as were 46 of its 64 overall shots.
Jake Hagler (SR/Cando, N.D.), who led Jamestown (12-12, 7-4 NSAA) with 22 points, was 6-of-11 from downtown. Logan Brown(SR/Roseville, Minn.) and Sam Johnson (JR/Mora, Minn.) each shot 5-for-8 from long distance, and Christian Kvilvang (SO/Cando, N.D.) was good on three of his seven attempts. Carter Keller (FR/Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Daymeann Stewart (JR/Milwaukee, Wis.) also contributed to the deluge of longballs, which broke the previous record of 18 set in 2002-03 and tied again in 2003-04.
