Lacina, 95, of Edgeley, ND, died Thursday morning, January 26, 2017 at the home of his son, Clint and Kathy Lacina, in West Fargo, ND under hospice care.
Milton Frank Lacina was born September 6, 1921 at Berlin, ND on the family home farm of Thomas and Emma Lacina. Milton was raised on the farm and moved to Peoria, IL where he owned a bar for two years. He returned to North Dakota to farm with his brother, Glen Lacina. Milton decided move to Long Beach, CA where he met Hazel Lemburg. They were married in 1953 and moved to Berlin, ND in 1955 to Milton’s family farm. He served on the Berlin Elevator Board, ASC Committee Boards, and was a LaMoure County Commissioner. They farmed until retiring in 1984, and Hazel died in 1992.
Milton liked to visit his brothers and sisters, grandson and great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and many friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool, and following baseball and football. Milton loved to dance and later in life met Ramona Kruize, who became a good friend for the rest of his life.
Milton is survived by his son, Clinton (Kathy) Lacina, West Fargo, ND; grandson, William Lacina, Mandan, ND; two great-grandsons, Dalton and Dylan Lacina, Mandan; sister, Grace Hartness, Peoria, IL; step-daughter, Beverly Scoville, Cathedral City, CA; step-grandson, Randy Scoville, LaCanada Flintridge, CA; three step-great granddaughters; and special friend, Ramona Kruize.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, with Pastor Becky Holten officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, ND.
