CITY (NewsDakota.com)- An extra period was needed to decide the outcome of Thursday night’s Lisbon and Maple Valley Boys Basketball game. The Raiders got the edge in overtime 62-60 to pick up their 3rd straight win. Quarters 1 and 2 were low scoring with Maple Valley taking a 21-19 advantage into the half. The offense picked up in the 3rd, Lisbon took the lead 40-38.
In the final 8 minutes Maple Valley outscored The Broncos 17-15 to tie it at 55 and force overtime. One field goal was the difference maker, AJ Punton had 4 of The Raiders’ 7 overtime points.
Punton scored a game high 25 points, Hunter Smith had 19. For Lisbon Wyatt Runck paced The Broncos with 19, Gunnar Fraase posted 12 and Maverick Coleman 11. Lisobon (4-9, 3-4) play Ellendale Saturday. Maple Valley (8-3, 2-1) play home at against Hankinson.
