(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High basketball teams hosted St. Mary’s in a WDA doubleheader on Tuesday night and it was the Saints picking up the season sweep in both girls and boys basketball.

GBB: St. Mary’s 59, Jamestown 48

Jamestown lead 30-24 at halftime, but could only put up 18 points in the second half as St. Mary’s took control. Sydney Smith and Taylor Gerving scored 35 of the 43 second half points for the Saints. The Jays could not stop them from going to the basket or in transition.

Megan Gaffaney finished with a team-high 16. Jamestown falls to 5-7 (4-6) and will host Legacy on Friday.

BBB: St. Mary’s 75, Jamestown 52

Jamestown cut it to a five-point lead at 39-34 early in the second half, but the flood gates opened quickly after that. The Saints went on an 18-0 run and never looked back. Head coach Luke Anderson even emptied his bench during the run out of frustration of his starters.

Adam Reiten lead the Jays with 11. Jamestown is now 1-11 (0-10).
