N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Building, Planning & Zoning committee spent Tuesday discussing a first reading of a flood damage prevention ordinance along with other items.

Chairperson Ramone Gumke stated that the First Reading to amend and re-enact Chapter 32 of the City Code pertaining to Flood Damage Prevention were changes recommended to the city.

The ordinance will be discussed at the next city council meeting.

The committee later looked at entering into an agreement with SRF Consulting Group to provide planning and zoning technical services to the city in 2017 in the amount not to exceed $60,000.

Mayor Katie Andersen reports that the new agreement will allow SRF to fully utilize their hours to streamline their work. The agreement was approved.

In The Civic Center & Promotion Committee meeting, Chairwoman Pam Phillips had nothing new to report, but stated that they would be meeting with the Roughrider Rodeo Association in February regarding their event.

City Administrator Jeff Fuchs reported that the civic center had been flooded due to the recent melt and freeze on the roof of the structure.

There was no need for a motion on the contractor inspecting the roof.
