(NewsDakota.com) Lane Hanson had a game high 35 points and the Edgeley-Kulm-Montpeiler boys basketball team withstood a second half surge by Oakes to win 62-41 Friday night.
The Rebels (4-6, 2-0 Class B District 5) were up by as much as 22 at one point, before the Tornadoes (1-8, 0-3) pulled to within 10 with about six minutes remaining in regulation. Oakes would be no closer, as EKM slowly pulled away in the last minutes. Hanson had 16 points at halftime.
The Tornadoes had a team high 11 points from Tyler Voightman. Jordan Cunningham added another 10.
