(NewsDakota.com) The fourth ranked team in Class B girls basketball in North Dakota had their work cut out for them on the road Thursday night. Carrington responded with strong second part of the third quarter and carried that momentum into the fourth quarter to earn a 66-46 victory against Oakes.
The Cardinals (12-0, 4-0 Class B District 5) had a nine point lead after the end of the first quarter, but saw that evaporate to just a single point at intermission.
Maara Nelson scored 24 points for Carrington. Sadie Hansen and Nicole Schmitz each had 14 points for Oakes.
Carrington’s next game will be on Monday, January 23rd at home against Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier for a makeup game from January 3rd.
