CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) Barnes County resident Jodi Rae Ingstad is one of seven winners nationwide to receive a 0,000 prize from The KIND Foundation for her acts of kindness to so many people she helps and works with daily.

Earlier this year, The KIND Foundation issued a call for nominations, seeking individuals who had transformed their communities through kindness. Her husband nominated Jodi Rae after seeing information about the program on The Ellen DeGeneres show. Her nomination was one of nearly 5,000 from across the country and she rose to the top when the panel of judges went to make their winner selections.

KIND Foundation spokesperson Frederique Lonvis said, Jodi Rae’s empathy for North Dakota’s most vulnerable populations including the elderly, the homeless, and families in need really stood out.

Jodi Rae Ingstad talked with reporter Steve Urness about the award and what she plans to do with her prize.

Jodi Rae Ingstad is known as a “joyologist” at her job at the Griggs County Care Center in Cooperstown, North Dakota.

Lonvis added, Jodi Rae’s commitment to kindness extends past her day job at an elderly home. Whether materially or emotionally, Jodi Rae gives to others with her whole heart and humbly cannot understand what is so special about her limitless capacity for kindness. Those whose lives she has touched describe her heart as one of action.

The KIND Foundation is a 501c3 established by the healthy snack company known as KIND. The national philanthropic program rewards people for their wonderful acts of kindness.
