CITY, N.D. – (NewsDakota.com) The Daniel Johnston family will be collecting donations for men and women who serve as police officers and National Guard soldiers working around the clock at the Dakota Access Pipeline protest site.

Wendi Johnston said as part of a homeschooling service project they are collecting donations of pop, protein bars, energy drinks, gloves, hats, wool/thermal socks, face mask, hand/foot warmers, snacks (beef jerky, trail mix), gift cards to restaurants, and coffee shops, anything you feel would help.

The Johnston’s will be leaving Valley City on Sunday, December 4th to deliver these items to officials in Morton County.

She said donations can be dropped off at Urban Couture on Central Ave in Valley City now thru Friday or at Essentia Health in Valley City. The family will also pick up donations in Oakes and Ft. Ransom, North Dakota.

Wendi Johnston is the Secretary for the District 24 Republican party, her husband Daniel Johnston will serve his first term as a District 24 State Representative starting January 3rd
