SD (VCSUVikings.com)- Valley City State University juniors Rashad Satahoo and Jayden Ferguson have been selected for the North Star Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Preseason All Conference Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) conference basketball season officially begins this weekend with four games scheduled for Friday evening. The Vikings will be on the road with games at Mayville State on Friday and at Presentation College on Saturday.
Dakota State (S.D.) is the coaches’ preseason favorite to win the league title. Six players selected to All-Conference Team last year are listed on the preseason All-Conference team, including Mike Cardenas of Bellevue (Neb.), Tanner Heiser and Kyle Kilgore of Dakota State (S.D.), Jake Hagler of Jamestown (N.D.), Donnell Minton of Presentation (S.D.) and Jayden Ferguson of Valley City State (N.D.).
The North Star Athletic Association basketball schedule consists of 16 conference games with each team playing each other twice, one at home and one on the road. The postseason conference tournament kicks off on Feb. 23, 2017. The winner of the postseason conference tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Tournament in Point Lookout, Mo. from March 8-14, 2017.
