N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown hopes to have Newman Arena finished and open in 2017.
The $14 million, 61,000 square-foot arena looks to be complete by the summer of 2017, just in time for the fall sports season. University of Jamestown Athletic Director Sean Johnson stated that with the completion of the arena, the Hansen Center will no longer be used for athletics.
Johnson stated that the Students and Staff are excited to have a new arena to compete in.
Johnson said construction is on-track for an August 2017 inspection and to be open in September 2017. He said at the moment, the focus is closing it up for the winter and beginning construction on the inside.
